Former owner's name on both front free endpapers: "Ellen Lewinhaupt," dated 1906. Ellen Bayard (1869-1932), a member of the prominent Bayard family of Delaware and Pennsylvania, married Count Reinhold Abraham Lewenhaupt in 1891. He died later that year and she later married Carl Magnus Hagren. In vol. 2 is part of the program from a performance of Shaw's play Candida, from the week of May 18, 2915 at the Auditorium Theatre in Baltimore, starring Elizabeth Patterson, Pedro de Cordoba, Gerald Hamer, Ernest Cossart, Peggy Wood, and Richard Bird. Also with a small clipping of Katherine Cornell and Pedro de Cordoba in Candida at the 48th St. Theatre. Contents: vol. 1: Widowers' Houses -- The Philanderer -- Mrs. Warren's Profession; vol. 2: Arms and the Man -- Candida -- The Man of Destiny -- You Never Can Tell. In Very Good Condition: labels are rubbed, with minor loss from vol. 1 label; corners lightly rubbed; clean and tight. Very Good. Item #007157
