The absence of a date of publication and a street address suggest this was issued in the 1870s. Former owner's inscription inside front wrapper: David G. Stoddard, Chenango Forks, New York. Tells the story of Jackey and Sukey at school and courtship, including a description of Jackey as a blacksmith's apprentice. In Very Good condition: old hand-stitching of spine; faint writing at head of front wrapper; lightly soiled. A solid and bright example of this scarce McLoughlin Brothers children's book. Very Good.
