Embossed seal of the Academy of the New Church on half title and title pages; "Academy Library, Bryn Athny, Pa." stamped at foot of each title page. Remains of circulating slip on both back free endpapers. Title and call number in white on both spines, which are covered in black library book repair tape. The author, Jean-Hippolyte Michon (1806-1881), was a Catholic priest, teacher, and author, as well as the found of the field of graphology, or character study through handwriting analysis. In Good Condition: black tape over both spines; corners are rubbed; front hinge of vol. 2 weak; old repair along gutter of title page of vol. 2; crease in upper section of last pages of vol. 3; pages are clean and tight.
