Full period polished calf with six spine compartments between raised bands. Red morocco spine label in second compartments with gilt-tooled title: Praxis Almæ Curiæ. Blind-tooled decorative border along both joints of each volume. Gilt-tooled decoration of board edges. Former owners' names on front endpapers and title pages: G.D. Wall (Garrett Wall); S.R. Stewart; J. Growden jun.; Robert Hawthorne; and H? Hughes. "Weidman" in ink at head of both spines. In Very Good- Condition: leather is rubbed and scraped; small loss of leather at ends of spines; fore-edges of vol. 1 dampstained at lower edge, slightly touching lower corner of a few pages; boards just starting to separate at head of spines, but solid; foxing, heavy in sections; otherwise pages are clean and tight.
