Contemporary binding: leather spine with gilt-tooled spine title "Pearson's Analysis" and blue-, black-, and white-patterned paper over boards. Former owner's name on front fixed endpaper: LaMonte Sayler. A Dissertation on the Prophecies has separate title page and pagination. Published in Athens, Tenn., by W.P. Reid, but printed by Gibbs & Hoon. The author, Abel Pearson (1779-1856), organized Soddy Presbyterian Church, or Mount Bethel Presbyterian Church at Soddy, in Hamilton County, Tennessee, and he served as its first minister. In Good Condition: binding is rubbed with slight loss of leather at ends of spine; small loss of paper on lower part of back board; corners are worn; front free endpaper lacking; heavily foxed; a few pencilled marginal notations; faint dampstaining along edges of first few pages; pages are otherwise clean and tight.
