This satirical pamphlet by playwright Richard Tickell first published before Parliament met in 1778 to consider that pesky problem in the American colonies, and reprinted several times. Tickell was reported to have mimicked the style of various politicians so successfully that when one spoke without having seen the pamphlet, "his speech was so exactly like the anticipation of it, that the House burst into a roar of laughing, so that he could not go on."
