Blind-ruled borders on both boards. Pale yellow endpapers. All page edges gilt. "Steam-press of W.H. Cox" -- p. 125. Frontispiece captioned: "Tomb of Heloise & Abelard in Pére la Chaise, Paris." No date of publication but the publisher and printer were active around 1850. This work is a translation of Epistolae Abaelardi et Heloissae. In Good Condition: cover is lightly soiled; edges rubbed; small section of cloth lacking from upper half of spine; corners bumped; front hinge weak (endpaper separated along front hinge); frontispiece and front free endpaper detached but present; faint stain along upper and lower edges of frontispiece; faint stain along lower edges throughout; scattered light soiling. A very scarce edition. Good. Item #002484
