Top page edges dark blue. Marbled endpapers matching boards. Small (3.5 x 3 cm.) dark green leather bookplate of Moncure Biddle on front fixed endpapers with gilt-tooled decoration. The library of Philadelphia investment banker and book collector Moncure Biddle (d. 1956) was sold by Parke-Bernet Galleries in April 1952. Erratum on vol. 1, p. [vi].
