Publisher's advertisement on back wrapper for works edited by Thomas Teller. Inside front and back wrapper and adjacent leaf are yellow. Caption title: Happy Little Edward. No date of publication, but preface, "To my young readers," title page verso, signed by "Thomas Teller" (i.e., George Tuttle) and dated 1845. Wrapper imprint includes street address: 121 Chapel Street, New Haven (used by Sidney Babcock 1841-1861). Wood-engraved plates signed EP (illustrator Edward B. Purcell) and AA (engraver Alexander Anderson). Wrapper illustration signed: E. Purcell. Title vignette signed Lossing (Benson John Lossing). Series title on wrappers: Teller's Amusing Instructive and Entertaining Tales. First (blank) leaf bears gift inscription to Mary Emmarean Thorne, dated 1855. In Good- Condition: old cloth repair to spine; wrapper is worn and stained; two 1-cm. tears from edge of front wrapper; minor loss at wrapper corners; soiling and foxing through first 10 leaves, but minimal through remainder of book; one less than 10-cm. tear from lower edge from the title page through much of the book; complete and solid.
