Photogravure plates have tissue guards with captions printed in red. The author, Edmondo de Amicis (1846-1908), was an Italian novelist and journalist. This is a beautifully illustrated edition of a fascinating mid-19th-century account of travel through Spain. Books are in Very Good Condition: loss of cloth at head of both spines; otherwise clean and bright, a very uncommon state for white bindings, but thanks here to the linen dust jackets.
