A charming story about a tree spirit,originally dictated as a gift for the author's friend, Florence Gotthold in 1901. She gave the right of publication to the Eastern Branch of the United Workers of Greenwich, Conn., the proceeds to fund the construction of a children's clubhouse and playground.
