Life in London first appeared as a monthly publication in 1821; it was notable for its reliance on fashionable slang. The great popularity of the work led to pirated versions, such as Life in Paris, advertised in this volume. In Very Good Condition: spine is faded; edges rubbed; head of spine slightly frayed; boards are stained;lacking blank leaf following front free endpaper; old dampstain along upper fore-edge of some leaves, not impacting text; light foxing; otherwise, clean and tight.
