Wink on front fixed endpaper. "W.F. Wink '97" written on lower page edges. This was possibly the W.F. Wink who was one of the owners of the Berwin Automobile Co. in Allentown, Pa., in the early 20th century, and treasurer of the Lehigh Automobile Trade Association in Easton, Pa., in 1919. In the style of the popular success manuals of the late 19th century, chapters include: Why and How Much to Read -- What to Read -- How to Read -- Memory and Note-Taking -- The Place of the Library in Education. The author dismisses the utility of reading courses and provides his own list of recommended books and "Books on the Subject of Reading."
