Contents: The Rio Kid: The Mysterious Trail by Ralph Redway -- Alonzo the Athlete by Frank Richards -- Proving His Mettle, narrated by Nipper of the Remove -- The Bunter Brothers: Merry Mirthmakers -- Lovell Lends a Hand by Owen Conquest -- Playing the Game by Martin Clifford. Ralph Redway, Frank Richards, Owen Conquest, and Martin Clifford were pseudonyms used by the publisher, most notably by Charles Hamilton (1876-1961), the most prolific writer of boys' fiction (according to Guinness). Ralph Redway was used for westerns featuring the Rio Kid; Frank Richards for stories set at Greyfriar School in Kent; Owen Conquest for stories set at Rookwood School and Benbow Floating School; and Martin Clifford for stories set at St. James College in Sussex (St. Jim's).
