No dust jacket. First edition. The author, Patrick MacGill (1889-1963), was an Irish poet, journalist, and novelist who served with the London Irish Rifles during the First World War. After being wounded at the Battle of Loos in 1915, he was recruited into military intelligence and worked for MI 7b for the rest of the war. In this collection of poems written during the war, he expresses a positive and patriotic perspective.
