Publisher's advertisement for other works by the author on page facing each title page. Engraved bookplate on each front fixed enpaper printed in red and black of A. Sydney Roberts M.D. The former owner, Algernon Sydney Roberts (1855-1896), was born in Philadelphia and graduated in medicine from the Unversity of Pennsylvania. He made significant contributions to the development of orthepedic surgery during his brief professional life. His medical library was sold in Philadelphia by Stan. V. Henkels in 1897.
