1865. 1 sheet with handwritten letter dated March 10, 1865, offering to sell ingot brass consisting of pure copper 70 parts and pure N.Y. spelter 30 parts at $0.32 per pound. Embossed stamp in upper left-hand corner reading "Foster & Roby, Boston." Foster & Roby was established in 1863 by William T. Foster and William Gould Roby; in 1877 it became William T. Foster & Co.
