Publisher's advertisements on back wrapper and 10 pages following text. Max Stein (d. 1950) was a German immigrant who opened a book and novelty store in Chicago in 1885. Under the names Max Stein & Co. and Stein Publishing House he published postcards, dime novels, and books about magic and dream interpretation, as well as joke books.
