The publisher, Fred de Land, was involved in the development of telephone companies in the United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries and was a frequent contributor to Telephone Magazine. He also published the magazine Electrical Engineering in the 1890s. This is the first and the possibly the only issue of Electrical Literature to appear. No other copies have been located. In Good+ Condition: dampstaining along the edges of the wrapper and the first leaf; minor loss of paper at ends of spine; chipping along upper edge of front wrapper; pages are clean and tight.
