1838. 1 leaf, folded, with an estate inventory handwritten on one side dated Jan. 16, 1838. Headed: "The following account of Appraisement made to N Preston from Silas Preston's property." The date indicates that Silas Preston died at the end of 1837 or in the first half of Jan. 1838. N. Preston would have been his widow or other heir. No location is given. The items enumerated indicate that Silas Preston was a farmer. They include 2 horses, 3 cows, 11 sheep, wagons, and many tools; the total value was $474.93. The horses were the most valuable things in the inventory, one appraised at $75 and the other at $68. In Very Good- Condition: lightly soiled; starting to separate from one side at horizontal fold.
