The primary author, Gervase Markham (1568?-1637), was an English poet and writer. Although his best known work is The English Huswife (London, 1615), he was also a horse breeder, credited with having brought the first Arabian horse to England. A scarce Pennsylvania edition of this popular work. In Good+ Condition: loss of leather along front joint, for 3.5 cm. at tail of spine, and in sections of both boards; a few page corner creases; minor foxing; otherwise, clean and tight. Good +.
