Carlo Pellegrini (1839-1889), was a caricaturist for Vanity Fair from 1869 to his death in 1889, signing his works "Ape." Henry James, 1st Baron James of Hereford (1828-1911), was a lawyer and statesman, serving under Gladstone as Solicitor General and Attorney General. After he broke with Gladstone over Irish Home Rule and joined the Liberal Unionists, he served as Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
