The illustrations include 1 small tipped-in photographic illustration on the page of dedication of the author's parents, Ida May Bell (1852-1942) and Willis Alvin Winne (1846-1912). The author, Helen Alice Winne Mesick (1876-1950), was a resident of the Albany, N.Y., area. The photographs are presumably of the farm where she lived and local rural landmarks. Several of the poems were first read at local institutions the Albany Academy for Girls and the Dana Natural History Society. Scarce.
