Andres Manuel del Rio (1764-1849), a Spanish scientist who fled Paris during the French Revolution, is considered the founder of crystallography. He headed the Real Seminario de Mineria in Mexico, where he spent most of the rest of his life, with a few years in Philadelphia, including 1833, when he delivered this short paper. In Very Good Condition: disbound from a larger volume with chips along the gutter edge; lacking lower corner; light foxing in the margins; otherwise, clean and bright. Very Good. Item #005007
