Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky used a libretto written by his brother Modest Tchaikovsky, based on a short story by Alexander Pushkin. It premiered in 1890 in St. Petersburg. No date of publication. The imprint includes both Hamburg and Leipzig; the publisher moved from Hamburg to Leipzig in 1891. In Good Condition: some loss of wrapper along spine; chipping along wrapper edges; small pencilled note at head of front wrapper; light creasing; clean and tight. Good. Item #005077
