Eugene Augustus Hoffman (1829-1902) led Episcopal churches in Elizabeth and Burlington, N.J., Brooklyn, and Philadelphia before his appointment in 1879 as dean of the General Theological Seminary in New York; he led that institution until his death in 1902. Among his gifts to the school was a Gutenberg Bible. In Near Fine Condition: light foxing along edges of plates; otherwise, the books and dust jackets are clean and bright.
