Contains 11 full-page and 10 half-page illustrations from photographs of scenes and paintings. Illustrations are of scenes in France, Germany, and Colorado (primarily of Germany), including a full-page photograph of the Gutenberg House in Strasbourg. There is also one half-page photograph of a scene from the play The American Minister, by Paul M. Potter, showing the star William H. Crane along with Anne O'Neill and Katherine Florence. This publication was part of a less well-known photographic series by H.S. Smith and C.R. Graham, who also produced The Magic City, a photographic series containing views of the Columbian Exposition in 1894. This publication is very scarce. In Good Condition: wrapper is soiled; staples are rusting; wrapper is separating along spine; text block is separated from wrapper and center 2 leaves are detached from staples; pages have occasional light soiling in margins; otherwise, clean.
