Stereotyped by Lyman Thurston & Co., Boston. Peter Parley was the pseudonym used by American author Samuel Griswold Goodrich (1793-1860). "This little work consists of copious selections from the Father's Present, published in Dublin in 1833, with the addition of pieces extracted from various authors, chiefly American."--p. [4]. Lightly inscribed on upper corner of title page: "Jane Swift. 1836." The selections consist of poetry and nonfiction, generally dealing with religion and natural history. Very scarce.
