Presumably speaking before an organization of Civil War veterans, Bishop John Ireland (1838-1918) reflects on patriotism during and after the American Civil War. He had served as chaplain of the Fifth Minnesota Regiment from 1861 to 1863 and later was Chaplain in Chief of the G.A.R. Very scarce.
