Wing, R1867, R1865; ESTC, R203424. Final leaf blank. Henri duc de Rohan (1579-1638) led the Huguenots during the French Wars of Religion. In these memoirs, he writes about the fighting between the Royalists and the Huguenots during the reign of Louis XIII. Various former owners' names on title page and table of contents, indicating that this has belonged to John M? Michael, who gave it to Jno. Henderson, and to the Rev. Charles McKnight, who gave it to Alexander Mitchel. Additional inscription by the Rev. Charles McKnight on final blank page. Scarce. In Good+ Condition: edges are rubbed, with some loss at ends of spine and corners; lacking endpapers; damage to fore-edge of first title page and several following pages, without loss of text; soiling and browning throughout; complete.
