Heartbreak House was the only full-length play Shaw wrote during World War One. The short plays included here include three satirical works about war. With: newspaper clippings left in the book by a previous owner: the review of this book by John Corbin in the New York Times Book Review, Dec. 7, 1919; and 2 photographs of Shaw at the filming of the movie, released in 1931, based on his playlet How He Lied to Her Husband, with the stars Robert Harris, Vera Lennox, and Edmund Gwenn.
