Erlangen: Hilpert, 1815. Paperback. 26 p.; 24 cm. As printed, the title page left the specific date of the lecture blank; in pencil it was changed to "Die 3. Januar MDCCCXVI," indicating that, rather than being delivered in Dec. 1815, it was delivered on Jan. 3, 1816. Disbound from a collection of pamphlets owned by French homeopath Dr. Charles Ravel (1822-1887). The author, Johann Christian Friedrich Harless (1773-1853), was a German physician who served as a director of a clinical institute in Erlangen beginning in 1805 and in 1818 went to Bonn as a professor of pathology. Based on the natural philosophy of Schelling, he developed a theory of electropathology. In Very Good Condition: lacking stitching; title page slightly darkened along fore-edge; title page and p. 26 lightly soiled; otherwise, clean and bright. Scarce. Very Good. Item #005861
