Playbill for a production of An American Tragedy, a play by Patrick Kearney from the novel by Theodore Dreiser; staged by Edward Goodman; settings by Carolyn Hancock. Starring Morgan Farley, Janet McLeay, and Katherine Wilson. Horace Liveright (1883-1933) was an American publisher; he and Albert Boni established Boni & Liveright in 1915. One of the works by American authors that they published was Theodore Dreiser's An American Tragedy (1925). In 1924 Liveright branched out into stage production. This play premiered at the Longacre Theatre in New York on Oct. 11, 1926, where it ran to April 1927. No theater is identified on this playbill.
