Series title page indicating this is the first title in the series American Library Pioneers, edited by Arthur E. Bostwick. This is no. 141 of a limited edition of 1,000 copies printed by D.B. Updike at the Merrymount Press, Boston, in June, 1924, of which 500 are numbered. Ex-library: bookplate of the Free Public Library of Newark, New Jersey, on front fixed endpaper; remains of spine label on spine; accession and classification numbers on Preface page; embossed library stamp on free endpapers and one or more other leaves; back free endpaper has loss where pocket was removed.
