London: Virtue & Co., 1855. Print 25 x 16 cm. of Sir George De Lacy Evans (1787-1870), engraved by William J. Edwards from a daguerreotype by Antoine Claudet. No date of publication, but the original daguerreotype was made in 1855. Evans was involved in several battles of the War of 1812 and the Napoleonic Wars; he later served in Parliament where he worked for reform in the British army. In Very Good Condition: upper corners have small discoloration; lower corners slightly soiled; image is clean and bright. Very Good. Item #006811
