Cover and 6 pages are in color. Each page has an amusing illustration and verse about a bird or turtle and its egg. The illustrations are by Richard Felton Outcault (1863-1928), American cartoonist who is credited with inventing the comic strip with his creations The Yellow Kid and Buster Brown. The verses are by Earle Hooker Eaton (1865-1950), U.S. press representative for the Canadian Pacific Railway who also published light verse. A charmingly bizarre and scarce item.
