Former owner's inscription on front free endpaper: Martha Grayson, Washington, Penna. Martha Grayson was a 1842 graduate of the Washington Female Seminary, Washington, Pa., and was later the librarian of the Washington Library Association. Francis Alexander Durivage (1814-1881) was the editor of Peter Parley's Magazine and in this book he drew on many of his own contributions to that publication.
