A Talk on Playing the Game with Animals and Birds

London: Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 1926. Pamphlet. 7, [1] p.; 19 cm. Stapled pamphlet. List of publications issued by the R.S.P.C.A. on final, unpaginated, page. John Galsworthy, the President of the National Council for Animals Welfare Week, delivered this on the radio on May 7, 1926. He addresses many ways in which animals were commonly mistreated a century ago. Some have almost disappeared (killing birds for their feathers in hatmaking; killing seals for seal coats; docking horses tails), while others are still a problem (keeping dogs chained up; abandoning cats and dogs; keeping zoo animals in cages). Provides information on joining the R.S.P.C.A. on p. 7. In Near Fine Condition: staple is rusting; otherwise, clean and tight. Near Fine. Item #006954
