Greta Charlotte Negedank married Arthur McGeorge; she died in 1915. This is the third edition of the translation by English poet Edward FitzGerald (1809-1883) of verses attributed to Persian poet Omar Khayyam (1048-1131). One of the former owner's added "by Edward Fitzgerald" on the title page, a well as verses from other poets in the lower margins of two pages and on the back free endpaper, including a quote from Goethe in German script.
