1802 Carter County, Tennessee, appeal bond [Brig. Gen. Nathaniel Taylor]

1802. 1 handwritten document dated Aug. 2, 1802. In a suit brought by Abraham Clark against Charles Reno on Aug. 2, 1802, Clark recovered $50 and the costs of the suit. Reno appealed to the next Superior Court to be held in March 1803. Charles Reno, Nathaniel Taylor, and Charles Whitson of Carter Co., Tenn., are bound to Abraham Clark for $200 until the appeal is settled. If Reno wins the appeal or loses and pays this judgement, then this bond is void. Signed by Reno, Taylor, and Whitson, as well as George Williams, who was clerk of the county court from 1796 to 1836.
