Johann Emil Stroschein was an apothecary who founded a factory in Berlin in 1892 that produced medicine for metabolic disorders. Cholelysin is the trade name of a cholagogue he produced, which was advertised in 1904 and 1908. Inside both covers contain advertisements for other drugs made by Stroschein. Stamped on the front cover: "Sole Agents for the U.S.A. General Drug Company," New York. Very scarce. In Fair Condition: browning and brittle; loss at lower edges of covers; old damp stain at upper edges; one crease through the center, which is starting to separate from fore-edges; text is clean and intact.
