Benjamin Rich & Sons to Nathaniel Cushing & Co. re: order for anchors

1825. 1 handwritten letter, dated Boston, 27 Nov. 1826, from Benjamin Rich & Sons, to Nathaniel Cushing & Co., Hanson, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts. Benjamin Rich & Sons are ordering from Nathaniel Cushing & Co. one anchor and one kedge for a new brig of Putnam and Pratt at Briggs yard in Pembroke. As the brig is to be launched the next week, they should be delivered to Putnam and Pratt as soon as possible. Also, when they are "at leisure," Cushing should make more kedges, as Rich & Sons "have daily call for them." An interesting piece of mercantile correspondence involving a successful anchormaker in early 19th-century Massachusetts. In Very Good- Condition: light creasing; minor loss on address side, without loss of writing; old stain on address side; minor discoloration on letter side; otherwise, solid and legible. Very Good -.
