1862. Five Receipts from George B. Holland of Walpole, N.H., dated 1862-1869. George Baldwin Holland (b. 1838) was a sutler with the 14th New Hampshire regiment during the Civil War and married Sarah Eliza Morrison in 1879. The receipts consist of: #1, dated 24 July 1862, to Harry Allen, a harness maker. #2, dated 10 April 1866, to Cowing & Co., Seneca Falls, N.Y., for a pump. #3, dated May 1866, to H. Bennett for beef and tallow. #4, dated 31 July 1869, to W. W. Colburn, Walpole, for ice. #5, dated 3 Nov. 1869, to Henry Callender & Co., Boston, for wholesale groceries. The Cowing & Co. and Henry Callender & Co. have engraved letterhead. In Very Good Condition: light soiling and folds. Very Good. Item #008342
