1856. 2 sheets. The invoice for sheet iron purchased by W. W. Richards, Philadelphia, from Jevons & Co., Iron & Tin-Plate Merchants, Liverpool, dated 3 March 1856, with faint custom house stamp. This is attached to a yellow cover sheet with information about the ship, dated 23 April and 17 May 1856. William W. Richards was a shovel and spade manufacturer located at 7 Race St., Philadelphia. Jevons & Co. had been established by William Jevons (1760-1852); in 1818 his son Thomas Jevons (1791-1855) joined him. The business continued until 1939. In Very Good Condition: the yellow sheet is lightly soiled and starting to separate at one fold; the invoice is clean and solid. Very Good. Item #008349
