On 2 Aug. 1870, James and Susan Bleiler of Doylestown sold to Dr. George T. Harvey of Doylestown a lot of less than a third of an acre with a blacksmith shop and a wheelwright shop in Doylestown on State St. and Court St. Harvey paid $5,000, which included assuming 2 judgments and 1 mortgage totalling $2,979.96. Signed by James Bleiler and Susan Bleiler, witness Belle C. Bleiber, Bucks County Justice of the Peace John B. Pugh, and Bucks County Recorder of Deeds P. J. Hawk and with his embossed seal. War,Dr. George T. Harvey (1813-1893 or earlier) was a prominent resident of Doylestown. During the Civil he served as a lieutenant in the Doylestown Guards and then as a captain in the 104th Pennsylvania regiment. Before and after the war, Harvey had a drugstore in Doylestown, which also housed the Doylestown post office in the 1840s and 1850s.
