The Okonite Co., founded in 1878, was one of the original insulators of electrical wire and cable in the United States. Early customers included Samuel F.B. Morse for his telegraph network and Thomas A. Edison for the Pearl Street Generating Station, the nation’s first, built in New York City in 1882. This publication honored Hazard-Okonite who were serving in World War Two. It includes various messages from fellow employees of the firm and lists all those who were serving in May 1944 with their contact information. Writing on the front including the name and address of Dom Servillo, the secretary-treasurer of the Service Committee that produced the booklet. A very scarce World War Two item. In Good Condition: front is stained; creased; staples are rusting; cover is separated; text is clean. Good. Item #008436
