Handwritten will of Thomas D. Wattson with pencilled notation by Wattson declaring it null and void

1888. 1 sheet of lined paper with the handwritten will of Thomas D. Wattson (1836-1897) dated 30 March 1888. He made bequests to his nephew Thomas W. McCandless and niece Loraine McCandless, leaving the remainder of his estate in trust for the benefit of his wife Lydia C. Wattson. After his wife's death, the estate was to go to his niece Lillie Wattson McCandless after $5,000 went his sister Maria W. Snyder, wife of Walter H. Snyder. He named his wife executor. Signed by Thomas D. Wattson and witnesses Wm. Ernst and J. D. McGlathey. In two places there are pencilled notes by Wattson, dated 20 July 1894, declaring the will null and void. Wattson was born in Philadelphia and worked at Flagg's foundry and later with Robert W. Truitt in a hardware and cutlery store. He died in January 1897, hiw wife having died about two weeks earlier.
