Deed for Sale of Lot in McConnellsburg, Pa., where School Burned Down

1923. 1 printed and typewritten deed (36 x 22 cm.), 4 pages, folded. Printed by Henry Hall Printing, Indiana, Pa. On 31 Jan. 1923, the School District of McConnellsburg, Pa., sold to the Hon. S. W. Kirk of McConnellsburg for $1,510 2 lots in McConnellsburg on the west side of Second St. (#54 and #55 in the general plan of the borough). The lots were acquired by the school district in 1881 from F. B. Sipes and used by the school district until the building was destroyed by a fire in March 1922. Signed by school district vice president Thomas F. Sloan, secretary Charles B. Stevens, and Fulton County Recorder of Deeds B. Frank Henry with his embossed stamp and paper gold, embossed seal. The school building that had been destroyed by fire was a brick 2-story building with four class rooms and an auditorium. A larger building was erected to replace it on another lot.
