A "rain bath" was a shower as opposed to a tub bath. In the 1890s in New York city, there was a push to increase the availability of free public bathing facilities. Harvey E. Fisk (1856-1944) was an American banker and author of works on public finance. He and his wife were also very active in philanthropic organizations, which perhaps explains his article on the history of public showers in the United States. Includes photographs and drawings of public showers. Scarce. In Very Good- Condition: wrapper is lightly soiled; some loss at edges; upper corners of pages are creased, with minor loss at corner of first leaf; otherwise, clean and solid. Very Good -.
