The photographer was Alfred Ellis (1854-1930), a British photographer who specialized in theatrical photography. The subject, Georgie Esmond (1871-1942), was an English actress, born Georgina Esmond and later known as Georgette de Nove. She was active on the stage from a young age and as an adult also appeared in several silent films in the 1920s. In Good Condition: oval library stamp in upper right-hand corner of leaf; soiling to leaf; the photograph has rubbing at corner and in upper right-hand corner, but image is clean and crisp. Good.
